On this, the best I’m able to offer is a guess the alerts would continue for some time. Whether some time would be forever, I don’t know.

rolandh thank you for your detailed response to phonedude regarding the use of Google Voice for voicemail. Definitely will look at that shortly.
phonedude. the voicemail app from Boost Infinite that is available in the Google Play app store actually works very well and is similar to the visual voicemail app that we had with RW. Messages show up locally in the app and can be listened to without dialing anywhere. As others have noted, it seems to be very intrusive with regard to the permissions it requires to work. Installing it did stop the ALERTS from showing up all the time. Not sure they will stop when/if I uninstall the app.
