Boost Infinite billing credits extended

Has anyone checked to make sure their free B.I. hotspot is working (2/7/2024 was the start date)?
I checked both of my lines today, and they work now.
I think there is some throttling going on because I only get 5 Mbps downstream at home over the hotspot connection, but over normal B.I. 100 Mbps downstream.
This is good enough for me though for emergency use (and included for no extra cost).
I would NOT be satisfied if I was paying the extra $10 a month for it though!
I guess one could use an android app like Netshare that should give you the full bandwidth though?

I’ve never used NetShare, so won’t speak to its capabilities specifically but, yes, use of apps such as NetShare, PdaNET and VPNs are longstanding ways to work around hotspot caps and/or throttles.

I’ll just mention using such apps to work around hotspot caps and/or throttles generally violates a provider’s acceptable use policy and/or terms of service and can result in account suspension (or worse). I’m not suggesting folks avoid using such apps or other workarounds. That’s for each to decide for themselves. I merely wanted to mention the potential downside.

I have not ever used any of those apps, but I saw them mentioned in other forums. I want to drop my GMC truck’s AT&T hotspot that costs $15/month. It is slow too (about 10mbps down), and this free hotspot would be an easy way to do that, but it may be too slow.

I got the same email, but my March bill doesn’t show the credit. It goes up to the full $25 per month. Maybe this will be corrected when the payment happens on March 24.

UPDATE 3/24: I didn’t get the credit. Doing a chat with customer service now. Apparently they accidentally gave me extra credits in January and will start giving me the credit again in the April bill. So all is well, I hope.

I got my bill today, same results, it does not show the credit. A lengthy discussion via chat, where I had to educate the rep on what we were all told via the Feb2nd email extending the credits. After re-checking, he said I would receive my credits on the 23 when my billing date is the 14th. NOTE: The latest level BI app does not indicate credits as it used to, however, when I informed him of this, he said I would know by reviewing the next bill. He was unsure if I would be notified by email as in the past … again what was clear to me, this was not an AI-Bot … but he did promise to pass the concerns on to the billing department. I will continue to monitor the situation and pass on what I can

I don’t ā€œgetā€ a bill as such, but I can get the current bill from the app, and it shows that my credits arrived on the 23rd for the last two months. The December credit was on the 26th. My current balance owing is -$43.82. Yes, that is a negative number.

My BoostInfinite app version is 1.2.11.

Looking closely, I see that my credits don’t quite add up to the amount of the bill. The difference is a bit under $6. Allowing for the timing of credits vs. when the bill ā€œchargesā€, (23rd/12th) it will be about 20 months before the credits actually stop covering the bill.

Boost Infinite automatically charges my credit card each month. This evening, my card was charged the same amount as in previous months, which includes the credit discount.
