Boost Mobile giving out extra holiday data

I received this a few days ago:

We Are Gifting You High Speed Data

Hi Michael,

Thank you for being part of the Boost Mobile family! :fallen_leaf: We’re spreading some cheer your way with extra High Speed Data to keep you connected all season long.

Stay close to loved ones on video calls :video_camera:, stream your favorite holiday movies , and snag those Black Friday deals :shopping_bags:; all without worrying about running out of data!

Once you use 80% of your plan data, we’ll automatically give you an extra 50GB of High Speed Data! :wrapped_gift: You’ll receive an email once it has been added.

To track your High Speed Data usage, please log in to My Account or the Boost Mobile app.

Valid through December, 2025 for the line(s) ending in: XXXX.

I find this a bit amusing given that I barely use data on the Boost line. I’m assuming that they just dumped this on the whole customer base. Even on the Mint line, which is my primary, I rarely use over 1GB in a month.

I’m just dropping this here so people can track what Boost is doing.

Happy Holidays!

It appears to be a “please don’t leave” promotion.

Despite my chaos in the transition from RW to Boost and threats to leave, I’m still with them for now simply due to the RW credits. Still on Wifi mostly, hardly use data, and things seem to have settled down. Have not had to call customer service lately so decided to stay until my phone dies or they sell out. Still need to keep track of things and will start researching again just in case.

I am holding on to the Boost line due to a combination of RW credits and my Boost line being on AT&T. My main line is on Mint/T-Mobile. This setup gives me coverage in more places. It’s also handy when I suddenly need huge amounts of high-speed data, My Mint line is 5GB, and Boost is over 30. This is rare, but it happens now and then.

If the Boost line ever becomes unjustifiable, I can go back to buying eSIM profiles for my esim.me card when I expect to be in areas with iffy coverage. The profiles I get from Manet Travel can use all major US and Canadian carriers.

I don’t blame you guys for sticking with Boost. I decided to jump ship when they said RW customers’ rates were going up. About a week or two after I cancelled my Boost plan, they sent the email saying Republic Wireless customers would be allowed to keep their current rates.

I fled to Mobi, which was fine for a time, but less full-serviced as it was a beta. Now it appears Mobi is going down the tubes and I often think: “If I had just held on a little longer.” Now I’ve had to switch to yet another character. I would’ve preferred the stability of staying with one, so stand firm! lol

At the time, was strongly considering Mobi & am sorry to see the problems now. I then even opened a Tello account, got the Sim, then argued frequently with Boost who would not let me go claiming I owed them 1 year due to my new RW phone not transitioning in time. I do think it’s time to read up on phones/plans again just in case…like I had to after holding on to a 20-year-old car before buying being totally out of loop. Stability of Boost has been a concern too. Guess things were easier with the old land line monopolies.
