Has anyone heard of Whoop Mobile?

Though they come and go, I doubt we’ll ever run out of MVNOs of which I hadn’t previously heard. Today’s entry is Whoop Mobile!

It looks like they started as a dedicated ACP provider known as Whoop Connect and, with the demise of that government program, are trying the general market.

Their coverage map suggests use of AT&T’s network. Since, independent AT&T network MVNOs are fewer than independent MVNOs using T-Mobile’s or Verizon’s network, I may kick the :wheel:'s

I wonder if this is the Whoop Connect folks branching out after the ACP funds dried up.

Edit: Yes, it is.

Indeed it appears so. The map on Whoop Connect’s website suggests TMO coverage. The map on Whoop Mobile’s site suggests AT&T coverage.

I’ll gamble $6.05 inclusive of taxes on a Whoop Mobile SIM and see what I get. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Interesting. I’ve been considering looking for an AT&T based MVNO for a couple months now. Their pricing is comparable! Might give it a try.

I’m using Mobi and their customer service is top notch, but Verizon is annoying where I work. At least once a week, my phone will go into SOS mode or just show blank bars without telling me. This even happens while using Airplane mode with only Wi-Fi running. MOST of the time this works great, but when SOS mode hits it’s frustrating because I don’t always know how long it was in that state.

I did not experience this at all on Boost Infinite with AT&T’s network, which is why I’m assuming it’s a Verizon issue. Every carrier has a hard time inside the building I work in (which I believe is due to the metal roof), but even outside the Verizon signal is pretty weak (like 2 or 3 bars).
