Monochrome laserjet all-in-one printer

If this topic isn’t allowed, please delete or disregard - anyone have thoughts or recommendations for a monochrome laserjet printer? I’m getting bogged down reading reviews

I have had a Brother monochrome for over a decade. Works wirelessly, no issues.

I have an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w that I picked up on clearance for $30 when my work went remote during COVID. It works great. It does print more crisp and clearly with genuine HP toner cartridges than the cheaper ones I’ve purchased from Amazon.

Brother printers. Look no further.

Brother printers are generally reported to be good units. A key point is that third-party toner cartridges work without arguments from the printers. Quality may be an issue with such cartridges, but they work.

Potential issue with network units: I have a Brother color laserjet that lost most of the IPV4 stack. It took me a while to get scanning working on IPv6. I have not heard of anyone else having this problem, but Windows uses IPV6 by preference (more precise tracking), so Wndows users might never know if this has happened to them. I use Linux so I noticed rather quickly.

Apart from that one issue, a Brother printer has been working well for years for me.

Brother printers have won me over. I had one for 16 years and finally had to replace it. I now have Brother HL-L2460DW.

Do you actually need an all-in-one? Or can you use your cell phone to do scans? I use the OneDrive application to do all my scans. For the little bit of scanning I have to do it works perfectly fine, it can even do multi-page documents and it does a pretty good job of finding the edges. It has filters so you can remove the color out of a black and white document capture.

Scanning → Phone

Black and white printing → Home laser printer

Color photos → Send to a nearby store like CVS, Walmart, or Meijer

It’s too expensive to maintain color printing capabilities at home.

Thank you for your reply! I probably don’t need an All-in-One printer if I use my phone. I assume you copy documents the same way - take photo and then print??

Yup! For the rare occasion I need to copy that’s how I would do it. I was able to snag the Brother HL-L2460DW for about $115, brand new on ebay.
