Pricing for by the gig priority access (QCI8) remains $2.10/GB. Pricing for by the gig standard access (QCI9) drops to $1.90/GB.
Pricing for priority access “unlimited” plans is a $5 increase. Pricing for standard access “unlimited” plans remains the same.
Priority access is useful when the network is congested such as when large crowds are gathered - concerts, sporting events, etc. - or the network in a given area is regularly at or close to max capacity.
It’s not bad, but if you’re a high data user Visible+ is probably a more attractive option, and if you’re not a high data user maybe you don’t care about priority data.
Agreed that for “unlimited” there are potentially better options in the market. Many - myself included- however, have no need for “unlimited”. So, I appreciate having MobileX as a market alternative.
And; though my need for cell data is relatively minimal, when I need it I want the experience to be a good one. Having the option of priority network access - with no price increase for those paying by the gig - is a win from my perspective.
Granted it was a niche but MobileX pay by the gig is essentially Republic Refund with much better pricing ($1.90 - $2.10 per gig as opposed to $15) on a better network (Verizon) in most locations.
Agreed. I like how boring MobileX is. Works without drama or surprises.
