Have any 5.0 members been transferred to boost infinite yet?

Perhaps, to some degree but he is patently wrong about all Republic members being transitioned to T-Mobile’s network.Members with Republic 5.0 plans have AT&T network SIMs. Members with Republic 5.0 plans have been told they do not need new SIMs and will be staying on the same (AT&T) network.

From the FAQ on Boost Infinite’s Republic transition website:

Again, members with Republic 5.0 SIMs have AT&T network SIMs. There is no way to move them to T-Mobile’s network without a new SIM and no way to keep them on the same network (as promised) if issued a new T- Mobile network SIM. AT&T network SIMs do not operate on T-Mobile’s network and T-Mobile network SIMs do not operate on AT&T’s network.

As much as an individual agent might sound sufficiently articulate about knowing what they’re talking about, it has been repeatedly demonstrated they do not. This has been the case since DISH acquired Republic and it will remain the case for those who choose to continue doing business with DISH by staying with Boost Infinite.

What number are you calling? I have some concern you may be talking to a scammer (not dish or a subsidiary).
He is not referring to Boost INFINITE (Boost Mobile & Boost Infinite are two different, but confusingly named, companies that Dish owns).
If it’s not a scammer, it’s an employee that doesn’t know the difference between the two different companies.

@MotoMaker 1-833-558-5820 for Republic Wireless. When I chat with Boost Infinite, it’s through their app that I have access to because my husband’s number transitioned a week ago.

@MotoMaker I emailed:

executivecustomerservice@dish.com and got the response several days later that I attached above.

Is that the response from James Chang? If so, Mr. Chang seems to be unaware Boost Infinite and Boost Mobile are separate services though they confusingly share the Boost brand.

Boost Infinite claims to be postpaid service. Boost Mobile is a sister to Boost Infinite prepaid brand. Republic members are being migrated to Boost Infinite not Boost Mobile.

If Mr. Chang is representative of those answering for DISH’s Executive Escalations Team, I may need to rethink my previous suggestions to engage them.

@rolandh I specifically asked him about currently having AT&T SIM cards. Like, how could they change them to T-Mobile? It didn’t work that way as far as I was aware. He told me that we don’t have AT&T SIMs. We have Republic SIMs and he said they would change networks as Boost required :woman_shrugging:

@rolandh The email I attached was from Mr Chang. The conversation I had today was with a Republic Wireless rep through the phone on the website. Mr Chang stated that some sort of card is coming in the mail. The RW rep said he couldn’t see anything like that in my account and that transition would happen in 3-7 days.

@rolandh Mr Chang is who responded when I used the dish executive email that you’ve mentioned.

This is nonsense. Check your phone number here: https://freecarrierlookup.com/. Who is listed as the carrier? I’m willing to bet it says New Cingular Wireless, which is AT&T.

I appreciate the circumstances are frustrating and folks are looking for reliable information. Here’s the bottom line, generally, one is not going to get reliable information from a DISH/Republic/Boost representative.

Hence, my earlier comment about rethinking my position about suggesting engaging them. For what it’s worth, the Executive Escalations Team is historically a better bet than whomever answers the phone.

I try hard not to tell others what they should do regarding migrating to Boost Infinite or moving on to an alternate service provider. I will just say this. After many years as a Republic member, Community Ambassador, and Expert Customer I got out!

Nothing offered by Boost Infinite isn’t readily available with other service providers (often at a better price and with much better customer service). Neither DISH Wireless, LLC or Boost Infinite are worthy of any residual loyalty some may still have to the Republic brand.

Yep, mine says cingular. So he’s mistaken. And I migrated from 5.0 last week.

My wife and I are on the same account. She migrated from 5.0 successfully last week. She is on Cingular Wireless-NSR/2.

@rolandh You are correct. Thank you for that website. My carrier is Cingular Wireless. I thought what the Republic rep on the phone was saying didn’t make sense, but also didn’t understand enough about it to confidently argue with him.

Any recommendations for an AT&T MVNO if I should have to switch?

It’s been a few years, but I had a good AT&T MVNO experience with RedPocket. They offer service on all three major carriers, so you have to specify that you want a GSMA SIM if you want AT&T. They do charge extra for visual voicemail ($1/month) and I believe most Android phones need to use the AT&T visual voicemail app. Reviews of RedPocket range from terrible to excellent.

Consumer Cellular is a generally well regarded service that uses AT&T or T-Mobile. I don’t have any experience with them but there is a review in the Reviews section:

I don’t have personal experience with them but Good2Go Mobile has recently updated their plans:

Like Red Pocket mentioned by @cbwahlstrom, Good2Go uses both AT&T and T-Mobile. Apparently, one may specify they need AT&T with Good2Go’s support.

I know you’ve mentioned T-Mobile having poor coverage in your area. What about Verizon? If Verizon coverage would work, Mobi, MobileX and US Mobile are worth consideration. Reviews for all three are in Reviews.

I “guess” my phone has been transferred (the first one). My second line did the “sign into republic wireless” for data but wouldn’t connect. Restarted and data is fine. I logged into my republic account and my first line has disappeared leaving only one. Now it says 19.99 for the “only what you need”. I have no way of logging into Boost Infinite. The code/site no longer works. Not sure what will happen next!

should be using the BI app.

How can I do that when I don’t have a Boost Infinite account?

As I understand it you set your Boost infinite account up using the Boost Infinite app. Do not use the personalized code used to access the transition website as your password.

It wants an email but says the email is not registered. There is no way to just create an account.
