Have any 5.0 members been transferred to boost infinite yet?

We just got a similar E-mail for the primary line on the account. The second line is still in limbo as we wait for migration.

The message bothers me since it looks like “You’ve successfully added the additional service(s) listed below…” even though we did nothing. I’m sure a credit will be issued or other changes made to even things out when the dust settles.

The good thing . . . the hotspot does work! Now we can go use the data that’s already part of our plan

BTW - hotspot speeds are terrible :expressionless:

Some of us(me) still waiting for the welcome to BI.

Yup, me too. The Republic site shows me and daughter as cancelled, can’t get into the BI app, no welcome text. Stuff is still working so I’ll just continue to twiddle my thumbs.

Me too. I think there are many of us in the same boat. Since our service is still functioning, we’re a lower priority than those most adversely impacted

I don’t know why, but I got an email just now that $28 credit was added to my Infinite account. Sounds good, just wish I knew why.
I checked my credit card & I haven’t been charged by Infinite yet for anything.

I received a $28 credit too about 10 days ago. The only thing I can think of is maybe my discount in a lump sum.

My activation error is fixed and my phone is in my account!

What a relief @greenlily519 . My “activation error” was fixed this morning and I’ve been hoping yours has too as our situations we’re so similar.

Yay :tada:

Got the “Welcome! We’re super excited…” text message on the second line that was hung up with an activation error. The BI app now shows both lines activated and all the account information looks correct. No need to sign out/in on BI app. Just opened it and saw the good news! Logged into the BI web site and the landing page also said all lines were activated.

Quick test shows data is working. Only thing we’ve found so far is the mobile hotspot is only working on Line 1. Expect we will get another text about that once the hotspot gets enabled on Line 2 :crossed_fingers:

Looks like both lines will stay on AT&T (our preference) and we will no longer need to swap SIMs to get Line 2 working :slightly_smiling_face: Will post updates if anything changes. Here’s a SIGH of relief.

Next step . . . swap over to new Samsung A54 5G phones in place of the older A32 5Gs.

didn’t received any text. but try to login with my email address on BI app just now.
success. send me a code to email and create new password for the app.
So I’m guess I’m on the BI system. phone and payment look correct
everything working. without rebooting for data.

5 minutes later. got my welcoming text.

Same thing happened with me just now, I guess our transition to BI is finished. But I note phone still identifies as ‘Republic’ instead of ‘Boost Mobile’ at top.

My understanding is you will not see Republic change to BI on the phone unless you change SIMs.

That’s largely correct (as I understand it). Android contains a carrier ID database that references certain information from the SIM card and compares it to a carrier ID table. Short of changing the SIM Boost Infinite could submit a change form to the Android Open Source Project, and if approved the lookup table would be updated in subsequent Android builds.

TLDR: The Republic designation at the top of certain phone screens is unlikely to change anytime soon.

This morning email says hotspot I requested (I didn’t) was added to my account for $10/month. I assume it’s a standard form letter email for adding the free hotspot for 6 months. I don’t see a charge listed in my BI account for it.

“You’ve successfully added the additional service(s) listed below to the line ending in ####. Please be aware that your upcoming bill will reflect two charges for Data Hotspot: one for your current bill cycle and one for your following bill cycle”

From what I read this is part of the transition from Republic. Republic had hotspot at no additional charge and Boost is providing the service for the first 6 months similar to price matching some users are getting as well.

I think the real question is will Boost remove this at the 6 month period or will they just start charging you for it.

Initially, there was no mention of providing hotspot at all except for the relatively small number of Republic 5.0 members with “Everywhere You Go” plans.

I expect it’s something members are going to need to remember to remove themselves after six months. I wouldn’t rely on Boost Infinite doing so.

This morning, I got the “super excited” text (some people are hyper-excitable, I guess), and finally, I was able to login with my email in the app.

The app shows “G Stylus” as my phone model. I have the 2020 version, not sure if the 2021 or 2022 models would show up differently.

Yeah, I didn’t know how to respond to a different company that asked me if I was

  1. Satisfied
  2. Extremely satisfied
  3. et cetera

I told them I was “satisfied” the problem was fixed. Until that time, I had never considered I could be more than satisfied.

I’m just HYPER-XTRA-$UPER-THRILLER-EXCITED that my migration to BI seems very close to the end!!! !!! !!!

Oh… when I said I was SATISFIED with that company, I got a call back asking me what they did wrong because I wasn’t “EXTREMELY SATISFIED”

Now that’s funny

My email states that after the free six months that the next six will be $5 a month.
“ Additionally, as a loyal customer and recent Hotspot user, you will also have access to free Hotspot for the first 6 months and you will continue to receive Hotspot at a discounted rate of $5/month for the next 6 months by simply adding AutoPay on to your account.
