Have any 5.0 members been transferred to boost infinite yet?

Mmmm… Those cinnamon rolls… :yum:

My transition to Boost Infinite last December was pretty seamless. Unfortunately, my friend and I had the opposite experience with his RW to BI transition. At one point I almost gave up. I eventually got the line transferred with telephone support, but without his Early Access benefits. Luckily, the Boost Infinite Official support on Reddit solved the benefits plan transfer within 24 hours. Highly recommend the customer support on the BI subreddit, if you can’t get help over the phone, once you are set up with BI.

I very much appreciate the recommendations for MVNOs given by rolandh and others on this site, and hope Real World Users remains active for former Republic Wireless customers and others, after Republic Wireless shuts down.

Same situation here.

I got this a few days ago but no message. Still on Republic! Weird.

Still on Republic, no message received about the transition.

And I just thought of this: Republic by DISH is Republic In Name Only (RINO).

Well, here we are, August 31st and not seeing any posts about how well the migration from RW by DISH 5.0 to Boost Infinite has gone. Suspect that many are in the same position we are, we received text messages about migration and then crickets!

Maybe it’s a blessing and nothing will change until after the holiday weekend  We would certainly like to have operational phones over the long weekend without spending hours on the phone to make it happen

I imagine it would be for some, and not for others. I’ve seen some posts from people who have run out of data and would like to add some. Unfortunately they’ve removed the ability to add a gig of data for those folks.

I posted about my issue in the other transition to Boost thread-but essentially I have a SIM card in hand but when I try to start the transition on the boost website it says “unable to retrieve user record” and I’ve been on the phone with them for hours over three separate calls and still not resolved. I’m on a My Choice plan, for what it’s worth. But agent who has assured me my issue will be resolved told me the actual end date is 9/30. But! I’ve been warned that Republic agents often give conflicting information. So who knows. At this point, I’m probably going to just have to switch services entirely since no one can seem to resolve my issue.

Hi @flufflybunnykl,

For the sake of others reading, migrations for members with 5.0 plans are from a technical standpoint different from those for members such as yourself with My Choice plans.

Members with 5.0 plans, do not need new SIMs for migration and are supposed to be migrated even if they choose to do nothing as far as providing payment information is concerned.

What the agent told you may very well be accurate but, as you say, who knows? It’s a challenge to take anything said by a DISH/Republic/Boost Infinite representative at face value when so much of what is said doesn’t happen as described and there are no proactive updates. To be clear, I’m not suggesting DISH/Republic/ Boost Infinite representatives are being intentionally misleading. I suspect agents are doing their best with what they’ve got to work with.

The reality is we’re all switching service providers. It’s a matter of whether one prefers to give the choice made by DISH/Republic/Boost Infinite an opportunity or whether one prefers to go their own way.

Thanks for the clarification about 5.0 and My Choice! Appreciate your work.

I have an iPhone on a 5.0 plan. Still no “Welcome to Infinite” message. I did get the “we are transitioning your service” text on 8/29. The phone now says “Boost” instead of “Republic.”

This may be indicative of nothing more than the former Republic Apple carrier bundle having been replaced on your iPhone with Boost’s Apple carrier bundle. Apple carrier bundles come directly from Apple and are not necessarily indicative of your account having migrated.

Have you tried signing into your account with the Boost Infinite app? If your account has migrated, theoretically, you should be able to do so.

Thanks @rolandh for verifying my understanding that there would be no SIM change required if migrating from 5.0 plan.

Did log in and verify payment information, or at least thought I had. Don’t remember getting any error indications like others have mentioned. But after reading a few posts on here, I went ahead and called customer service who verified things looked good. But Murphy’s Law…even after that I received an automated text stating the need to verify information on the Boost Infinite site. The same text so many others received. Figure I’ll double check payment information again after migration.

Simply frustrated by the continued lack of information from DISH. Have no problem giving them a chance, but unlike a mushroom, I don’t do well being left in the dark.

Was also hoping because there was no change in SIM (fewer moving parts, sorry for the pun) that migration would go quickly. Guess time will tell…

Appreciate all the information you bring to the group

Can somebody call the 800 number they gave us in the text to see when the actual timeframe is to get us fully over to boost infinite? Its getting down to the wire and i have no patience to talk to boost infinite support right now. If anyone is patient enough to do so please report back your findings. Please and thank you.

Roland, I just tried to sign in with the Boost Infinite app and got, “We couldn’t find your Boost Infinite Account. Please use the email address associated with your order.” I tried both my email and my phone number. So: not migrated yet!

According to some chatter on Reddit, there have been “delays” with migration. The new date is said to be September 6th.

Of course, it’s entirely possible (and not terribly unusual with systems migrations), there might be additional delays. All one might do is:

  1. Remain patient
  2. Move on now

The choice is up to each of us.

So my phone line was activated today and i downloaded the app and created the account. My wife has an iphone it says Boost on top. Here number is still working but her number didnt show up in the account i tried activating the line with the imei and follow the steps but it says its not available. I wonder if it because its simply not moved over yet or another thing i was wondering. When this whole thing first went down i put my wifes number as the primary number then i re sis it with my number as the primary number. I wonder if these numbers are on 2 seperate accounts now. I honestly dodnt know what to do or think. I called Boost infinite support they transfered me over to republic support and he tried but the best he could do was create a support ticket and said they where looking into it. Does anybody have any insight into this?

Activated or migrated? Did you receive the promised email notice that your line’s migration was complete? Apologies for the seemingly obvious questions, however, if your 5.0 line has indeed been migrated, it would be the first report.

What you see on the top of your wife’s iPhone comes from the Apple carrier bundle. Apple carrier bundles come directly from Apple. It’s entirely possible DISH asked Apple to replace the Republic Apple carrier bundle with a Boost carrier bundle but, in and of itself, this does nor necessarily indicate your wife’s line of service has been migrated.

I understand this won’t be a satisfying answer but as long as your wife’s service remains functional, I think the best thing is doing nothing. Nothing in the communications from DISH/Republic/Boost Infinite suggest there is anything an end user might do other than waiting for the migration process to complete. It’s entirely possible your line has been migrated but your wife’s line has not yet been.
