My number has been migrated to boost infinite. I got the Welcome to infinite text, created my account on boost infinite app. I went into the app today and for the second line which is my wifes line it does say transfer in progress in the app. Just a matter of waiting now for me anyways.
I wonder if its a specific tower or regional outage. My line has been transfered and my wifes line is in the process of being transfered and both phones are working
Hi @nt26,
Unlikely. There were reports of similar issues when Boost Mobile (not to be confused with Boost Infinite) subscribers were migrated from legacy back end systems inherited from T-Mobile/Sprint to DISHās back end systems.
Thereās more to this migration than a change of plans and brands. For whatever reasons, some accounts are impacted while others are not.
But; when you promise seamless, you need to deliver it or, at least, be able to get those negatively impacted back up and running a lot sooner than 24 hours.
Edited to add:
Out of curiosity, with your account migrated to Boost Infinite, what happens if you attempt to sign into your account on Republicās website?
I got a text today welcoming me to Boost Infinite, but my phone still says Iām with Republic Wireless.
I did restart my phone after receiving the text, but I still didnāt see a Boost name appear at the top right corner of my phoneās screen where it still has Republic Wireless listed.
Iāve been on (and still am?) the 5.0 plan.
So i checked republic wirelessās website my wifes number has been fully taken off the account but mine still lingers. I dont know why. Maybe they kept my number there to keep the account active untill heres was migrated. Not sure. All i know is when i go to the boost infinite app i see my number there and hers with a bill due date. I assume republic wireless side will drop off and shut down
I seen some people say why does it still say republic wireless in the corner. Dish uses the same apn settings for the 5.0 republic wireless plans as well as boost infinite running on att. Once you get the welcome to boost infinite text and create your account in the app follow these directions. The only thing that will change is the name field. Which is what shows in the upper right corner of the phone. It probably wouldnt matter if you changed it to batman if you wanted to.Reddit - Dive into anything
Yeah, but if you change it to the BATPHONE, youāll get a lot more calls from frustrated police chiefs and maniacal supervillains.
So little update, my service was restored today but I have NOT been migrated to Boost! Very confusing.
Fwiw, I spoke to an RW CSR about 2.5 hrs agoā¦ Apparently, those of us with āoutagesā have been/were escalated to have RW service restored.
Imback, Iām in the same boat as you.
Yesterday (9/5), the service on both my RW 5.0 phones went out. One phone is paid on R to 10/4 (which they hit my CC for on 9/4), and the other is paid to 9/18. Could not send or receive calls on either phone. When I tried to dial, got a recording which said, āYour balance is too low to make a call. Please make a paymentā. Horsepockey! Both phones are current.
Spent most of yesterday trying to get answers. One call, I waited 1 hr, 21 minutes on hold before talking to a rep who did not fix the issues. Today, I spoke with another rep who asked for āpatienceā while they sort out the problems. Looks like RW backed out whatever tomfoolery they did yesterday, because today, my phones are (mostly?) working again (for now). Carrier still says Republic. I have not received ANY communication from either RW or BI since the 8/7 email. I followed the instructions in that email and successfully set up the 2 BI accounts on 8/23, but the phones still arenāt activated on the new accts. *weary.
I am going to post about my boat here in case anyone is swimming in the sea and wondering what boat they belong to. I have 2 RW 5.0 accounts with 2 phones each for a total of 4 lines on Only What You Need 1GB per month. Two of the phones are unlocked Motorolas purchased before December 2021 and the other two phones are Motorolas purchased from RW in March 2022 during the 3g conversion. I followed the advice here and unlocked those phones a couple weeks ago using old RW green SIMs, so I should have 4 unlocked Motorolas using RW 5.0 red SIMs. Billing dates at RW are 19th and 24th of the month. We are all a little low on data in anticipation that we would have infinite data by now. I followed the payment setup directions in the emails last month for both accounts. We received the text warning us to set up the payment information (but ignore if already done, so we ignored). We also received the text that we would be transitioning. We did NOT receive a welcome text yet from Boost. We still show Republic as our carrier, and our phones never stopped working. I would assume the migration is happening in batches, and our batch hasnāt initiated yet. I am pouring over this forum and waiting nervously in anticipationā¦but I am not calling RW or Boost support, because I donāt want to hop in line with the customers without service and stuck in migration limbo, who should be priorities. For now we are conserving data, going about our daily lives, and hoping the transition is āseamlessā for our batch when they eventually get to us.
My experience is much like that of @Cheerbear ā my wife, son, and I all have 5.0 plans. We all got the ātransition will be happening soonā text last week, but not the "youāve been transitioned " text. Still waiting. Still have service. Will report back on our experiences as things change.
I appreciate everyoneās input here. Feels a bit safer somehow.
Uhm, imho, Iād email the Escalation team. Iām currently in an extended email exchange with a Team Member. They couldnt find my transition account until they re-asked for certain info I had already provided when I set up my transition acct. Then, they could āseeā the acct, but are having trouble acting up on it. Seems to be a sort of mismatch of info. And, all this just to have my RW service restored in the interim.
i wanted to report after both numbers have been transferred to boost infinite, mine and my wifeās it still did show that my number was appearing on republic wireless website for some reason. I was not charged today by republic wireless so it does appear that on republic wireless side the number is just a place holder or a relic from the transition. The saga of transition to boost infinite has came to a close for me. i wish everyone in this thread the best of luck!
Good to hear. Wonder when my # would get transfer.
The Republic site had been indicating my next bill date as September 8, which is today. My credit card has not been charged. Now the site shows October 8 as the next bill date, and my cell data has been reset. The amount for the October bill does not include the $5 discount Iād been receiving because my Republic-purchased Motorola phone cannot do WiFi calling.
The Boost Infinite app doesnāt accept my phone number or email, so my account has not been transferred.
Who knows, maybe they turned off Republic billing expecting migration would have been done by now? No need to complain about free service in the interim.
Not sure what to make of that, other than I sincerely hope folks arenāt still waiting on migration into October.
Unlike Republicās prepaid service, Boost Infinite is postpaid (sort of). Boost Infinite bills 15 days after the start of oneās billing cycle. For migrating Republic members, their Boost Infinite billing cycle is supposed to start as of the date service is migrated. So; oneās Boost Infinite bill cycle probably wonāt be the same as their Republic bill cycle was.
My regular bill date is the 7th. So yesterday I was expecting to see the usual charge. But I was not charged and I logged onto Repub. and saw that the next bill date is Oct. 7th. My data was reset. No indication of when I will be switched over.
Another data point: My billing date is the 5th, and they did charge me. They say the next billing date is October 5.
me too, billing date was the 4th. and they charge me.
